Basically, I was hinting at the idea that in our imagination (defined here as the mental activity prerequisite to creativity ... the imagine-making power of the mind to create) we are the image of God Creator. The encounter we re-create is the initial act of creation itself. This is a gift. And yes, there is a contradiction here. But it is the type of contradiction I behold with peaceful unknowing. And no, I haven’t inhaled any Scotchgard…yet. I chose the word encounter because it has a quality of being unexpected. And although I might welcome it as well, I don’t see a contradiction with the excerpted poem. Excuse me while I invoke a well used quote attributed to one of those scientists: Imagination is more important than knowledge. And yes, I do like beginning sentences with conjunctions, although, I’d rather end with them in any case.

I’m not familiar with Gerard's Catholic Page for Lovers. What a great blog - if we could be anything like that - that would be awesome.

One thought on the everyday life of the Christian: Although the first thought of it brings to mind the little details and routines of one's life I think it also involves those grand moments of inquiry, creativity, finding one's place in the past/present/future of things. I think of the "everyday life of the Christian" as a reflection on our humanity in the light of Christ. And really, it ties in so beautifully with Apoloino’s interest in the encounter with Christ and being a witness for Christ.
